Alfred Stanley Livingstone

EUREKA – Alfred Stanley Livingstone, age 79 of Eureka, Pictou County, passed away on January 14th, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Sonora, Guys. Co., he was a son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Jack) Livingstone. Alfred was a resident of Eureka for the past 42 years. He was a former employee of the Trenton Car Works having retired in 1987, also having worked for a short time in Elliot Lake, Ont. Alfred was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. An avid hunter and fisherman, Alfred also enjoyed dancing. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Green; sons, Hector of Sarnia, Ont., Rodney of Springville; a daughter, Alfreda of Masstown; sisters: Georgina Landry of Halifax; Olga (Blair) Cain of Stewiacke; Mary LaDouceur of Calgary; Sheila Livingstone of Halifax; brothers: Eldridge (Ruth) of New Glasgow; Glynn (Marlene) of Pincher Creek, Alberta; Murray, Lyman, Roy, Brian, all of Ontario, Doug and Ivan of B.C.; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins Alfred was predeceased by a brother, Lyndie, and a sister, Queenie. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury and Rev. Heather Landry officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donation in memory of Alfred may be made to the Parkinsons’ Society of Canada, Maritime region, 5475 Spring Garden Road, Suite 407, Halifax B3J3T2, the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
