NEW GLASGOW – Aretta Alene Logan, age 82, of Highland Dr., New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Brenton and Georgina (Parsons) Walsh. She was a member of First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow, and a former member of New Horizons Club, Pictou. She is survived by daughters: Donna, at home; Georgina Logan, Pictou Landing; Susan (Richard) Bates, Trenton; son: Garnet (Judy), Trenton; grandchildren: Randy, Alan, Aretta, Chad, David, Natasha, D.J.; brother, Leon Walsh, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, John Alan; sisters: Eloise, Belle, Veronica; brother, Garnet. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday from First United Baptist Church, East River Road, New Glasgow, with Rev. Leo Fletcher and Rev. Morley Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Research Society.
