THORBURN - Donald Edgar Robertson, 74, of the Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou, formerly of Thorburn, passed away May 17, 2007 at the Odd Fellows Home with his family present. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Harry Edward and Margaret Salone "Sally" (MacEachern) Robertson. Don owned and operated his own business, Pictou County Home Appliance for 20 years. Prior to that he worked at Central Appliance and Service. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and generally being outdoors. He also had a love for cars and his dog "Pal." Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie Betts; sons: David (Donna), Thorburn; Doug (Liya), Liverpool ; Dean (Jennifer), Sussex, N.B.; daughter, Marla Dawn (Shane) Cameron, Lwr. Barney's River; grandsons: Nicholas, Brandon, Timothy, Sean, Benjamin, Samuel and Conrad Robertson; granddaughters, Abby and Mya Cameron; sisters, Sharon LeVatte, Ottawa; Marilyn Anderson, Thorburn; sister-in-law, Eleanor Betts of Sydney He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Family interment in Thorburn Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Donations in memory of Donnie may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, or a charity of your choice.
