STELLARTON – Donald Michael Helwig, 52 of Stellarton, passed away Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, at home. Born in London, ON, he was the son of the late Ronald Helwig and Joyce (Wells) Duce. Donald had been a resident of Stellarton for the past 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and loved solving his daily sudoku puzzles. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rosalee (Dunn), Stellarton; daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Teeninga; and son, Gordon (Helwig), both of Hamilton, ON; sister, Bea (Rob), Wallisburg, ON; sisters-in-law: Viola, Mount William; Linda (Harry), Lower Sackville; Diane (Doug), Halifax; Debra (Bill), Stellarton; brothers-in-law: Bob (Donna), Stellarton; Fred, Pictou; Roy, Waterville; nieces, Crystal (Mike) and Amanda (Robert Jr.), special nieces, Rose and Betty Best; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Our Lady Of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church Parish Cemetery. Donations in memory of Donald may be made to Diabetes Association or to a charity of one’s choice.
