TRENTON - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother, Doris Olive MacDonald, 85 years young, on January 11, 2007, with her family by her side at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, N.S. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Dawe and Laura (Russell) Forward. Doris was a lifelong resident of Trenton with a brief stay at Glen Haven Manor and Parkstone Enhanced Care. Doris was a full time homemaker, an avid reader and was known to enjoy her crossword puzzles. She is survived by children: Peggy, Halifax; David (Joan) MacDonald, Quispamsis, N.B.; Susan (Hartley) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Pamela (Doug) Hunter, Whitby, Ont.; grandchildren: Mike, Janine, Sara, Erin and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Luke, Aliyah and Gabriela; siblings: Lyda Reynolds; Jean (Ian) Forrest; Donna (Raymond) Fitzgerald; Arthur Forward; Gordon (Marion) Forward; Marilyn (David) Croke; George Forward; Victor (Sharon) Forward. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Sinclair MacDonald; brother Charles; sister, Aileen. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday, January 15, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton, from where a private family service will be held on Tuesday, January 16. Donations in her memory may be made to the VON, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Mom, we are so proud of you and how you handled a long and courageous battle. We love you dearly and will miss you greatly.
