PICTOU – Dorothy Grant, 97, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, and formerly of Caribou River, passed away April 6, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Henderson) Daley. She is survived by a daughter, Peg Holmes, River John; sons: Jim (Carol), Foxbrook; Eddie (Irene), Caribou River; Ira (Barbara Ann) and Roy (Helen), both of Three Brooks; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Thompson, Westville; daughter-in-law, Marion Grant. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John; sons, Roddie and Bill; granddaughter, Terri; sisters, Mary and Alma, brothers: Ernest, Robert, Ira, Jerry, and Doug; and son-in-law, Maurice Holmes. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Jacquie Ross officiating. Burial will be in Caribou River Upper Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
