WESTVILLE - Douglas C. Allen, 63, Westville, NS, passed away January 9, 2007, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, following a lengthy battle with heart disease. Born in Dayspring, Lunenburg Co., he was the only child of the late Carmon St. Clair and Amy Gertrude (Hirtle) Allen. Following a career in Law Enforcement, including a term as Chief of Police in Westville, he served many years on the guards at Hawker Siddeley. He operated several businesses in the town and was a well known school and charter bus driver. He is survived by sons, John and wife Sandra, Halifax; and Donald, Hemford, NS. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held Thursday 2 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Leo Fletcher officiating. A committal service will be held Friday 2 p.m. in the Dayspring Cemetery.
