NEW GLASGOW - Edith Sylvania "Nick" MacDonald, 79, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Archibald Keith and Hilda Evelyn (Fraser) Nicholson. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow. Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are daughters, Hilda J. Oxley, Port Hope, Ont.; Sherry (John) Wishloff, Vancouver, B.C.; sons, Malcolm (Ruth) MacDonald, Pictou Landing; Master Warrant Officer, Keith (Karen) MacDonald, CFB Greenwood; grandchildren: Leslie, Sarah, Kerry, Shannon, John, Bobby, Ruthie (Brian), Katie (Nick); great-grandchildren: Hayligh, Jeffery, Hannah, Kennedy, Emma, Anica; brother, David Nicholson, Toronto; half-brother, Eric (Mary Alice) Sargent, Mexico; brothers-in-law, Warren MacDonald, Clifford MacDonald, Edwin MacDonald; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Malcolm MacDonald; sister, Joyce MacLean; son-in-law, Keith Oxley. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service at Edith's request. Donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. We would like to thank all her friends who were so helpful throughout the years. Special thanks to Dr. Spencer Barclay for his visits to Mom and to the staff on 5 South, Aberdeen Hospital, for their kindness to mom and us. Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K.
