Elizabeth “Betty” Spears, Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow, formerly of Mt. William and Westville passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret Jane (Daley) MacLeod. She was a member of the Church of The Holy Name, Westville. She is survived by her daughters, Esther, Merigomish; Peggy, New Glasgow and Carlene, Valley; sons, Richard, New Glasgow; Robert, New Glasgow and John, White Hill.; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grand children; and sister, Shirley, Toronto. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Courtley; a son, Courtley William; sisters: Doris, Margaret, Ruth and Edna and brothers, Garfield and Edison MacLeod . Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville. Arrangements are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.
