NEW GLASGOW – Genevieve “Eileen” Greene, age 94, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, and formerly of New Glasgow and Sunny Brae passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007, in the Manor. Born in Sunny Brae she was a daughter of the late John Fred and Elsie (MacDonald) MacInnis. Eileen lived in Sunny Brae the early part of her life before moving to New Glasgow in 1963. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow and a former member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Sunny Brae. Eileen enjoyed knitting, sewing and doing handicrafts. Surviving are daughters: Helen Crowell, Halifax; Thelma MacKinnon, Stellarton; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; daughters-in-law: Sherry Greene of New Glasgow; Joyce Greene, New Glasgow; Anne Green, Stellarton; brother, Hector (Helen) MacInnis, New Glasgow; sister-in-law, Grace Green, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; sons: Ralph, Keith and Myron; son-in-law, Ronald MacKinnon; a sister, Jean MacKenzie; a brother, Russell MacInnis. Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, from where funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Brae Cemetery. Donations in memory of Eileen may be made to the Pictou Co. Branch of the Kidney Foundation, Sunny Brae Cemetery Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
