(nee Kurceba) 1953-2008 The family of Marilyn Ann Manuel announces with great sadness the passing of their wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 23, 2008, after a two year battle with cancer. She will be forever remembered and loved by her husband Graham, son Shannon, daughter Amelia, as well as her father Alex Kurceba, sister Michele Darragh (Kerry), brother Sandy Kurceba (Maura) and nieces Jaclyn and Kelsey, all of Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her mother Joyce (April 25, 2008), sister-in-law Margaret Kurceba, cousin Kelly Millar and sister-in-law Faith Matchem. Marilyn had a wide circle of family and friends in both Winnipeg and her adopted home of Newfoundland where she had lived for the past 25 years. Marilyn was a longtime employee of the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. Instrumental in helping her deal with the many trying times but also sharing in a lot of laughter are her nephew and niece Dave and Bonnie Matchem and their children Sam and Hope. Despite facing a difficult and challenging illness, she approached everyday with a relentless vitality and an irrepressible sense of humour — a true inspiration. She will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place as she requested. Visitation will be held at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville on Sunday, May 25, from 7-9 p.m. and Monday, May 26 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville on Tuesday, May 27 at 2:30 p.m. with inurnment to follow at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville.
