Allen, Helen Jean (MacLeod), 80, of Riverbank Street, Stellarton passed away Friday, November 16th, 2007, at the Q E II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in New Glasgow in 1927, Jean was the daughter of the late John Dan and Mary (Cummings) MacLeod. Jean lived in Stellarton until 1951, when she married Tom and moved to Montreal and continued to work for the Royal Bank of Canada. While in Montreal she worked in over 40 branches, Head Office and in 1972 she and Tom moved back to Stellarton, where she continued to work for the Royal Bank until she retired in 1992. Jean was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Board of Stewards. Jean and Tom were leaders of the youth group for years and Jean was also Past President of the U. C. W. She is survived by daughter, Jean (Colin) MacIvor; and grandchildren Eric and Danielle, step-grandson, Patrick, Stellarton; son, John (Madeleine Beaupre), Halifax; brother, Jack (Jean) MacLeod, Calgary; brother-in-law, William (Hilda) Allen, Westville; several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband J. Thompson “Tom”. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on today in the H. C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday from Sharon St. John United Church, with Rev. John Roy officiating. Burial will be in the Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only please.
