WESTVILLE - J. Garfield Langille, Westville, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2007, with his family at his side. Born in Westville on September 19, 1931, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (O'Brien) Langille. Garfield worked at the McBain Coal Mine and the Drummond Coal Mine until his retirement. He was member of the Church of The Holy Name. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Florence (MacKay); son, Roger (Shari Fortune), Westville; daughter, Lynn Beaver (Terry), Ardoise, and only granddaughter, Lorena Beaver. He is also survived by a sister, Clare Malloy (Dale), Granton; brothers, George (Nettie), Westville, Francis (Dorothy), Saint John, N.B. and Gordon (Bette Anne), New Glasgow. He was predeceased by sisters, Beverly Campbell and Catherine, and brother, Carl. Visitations were held on Sunday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday from the Church of The Holy Name, Westville, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. Donations in Garfield's memory may be made to the Pictou County Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation.
