John Gregory "Jack" Kyle

Kyle, John Gregory “Jack”- 74, 330 Bennett St., New Glasgow passed away Friday November 16, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late James and Myrtle (Modest) Kyle. Jack grew up in Thorburn and later moved to New Glasgow. He was a member of St.Gregory’s and St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Churches. He was employed with the McBean mine for 19 years, then worked in construction working at the Pictou Shipyards and TrentonWorks. Jack was a member of the Bombers Club and Branch No.34 Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow. He loved hunting and fishing. He had recently received an award from the Town of New Glasgow for his years of collecting for the kidney foundation. Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Carrigan; children: Cheryl (Brian) Didsbury, MacLellan’s Brook; Bobby (Kathy) Kyle, Liz MacLeod, Greg Kyle (Cheryl) and Dennis Kyle all of New Glasgow; grandchildren: Melissa Mosher, Corey Didsbury; Jason, Brandon and Kayla Kyle; Amanda, Christine and John MacLeod; great-granddaughter, Milly Kyle; brothers, Michael, Welland, Ontario; Robert, London, Ontario. He was predeceased by brothers: Charlie, Hugh and Eddy Hale, Pat and Bernie Kyle; sister, Margaret Gerrior; son-in-law, Doug MacLeod. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
