GREENS POINT ROAD – Leigh Joseph MacKenzie, age 73, of Greens Point Road, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Ebbsfleet, PEI, he was a son of the late William and Annabelle (Butler) Burke. He was retired from the Pictou Shipyard. He was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. He served with the Canadian Air Force. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Petroff; daughters: Alaura (Richard) Shelton, Huntington, Texas; Belinda (Jeff) Stedman, Edmonton; Carrie (Ed) Blaisdell, PEI; April (Keith) Ross, New Glasgow; Heather Huyghue, Wedgeport; sons: Leigh, Edmonton; Jason (Carrie), Burlington, Ont.; Justin, Fredericton; several grandchildren: Alaryca; Christian; Brie; Luvanna; Ayla; Ryan; Dometria; Celece; Berkley; Shaelah; Justin; Kyle; Alysha; Alexa; great-grandchild Brynn; sister: Minnie (Clare) Gallant, Ont.; brothers: Dr. Lloyd (Mary) MacKenzie, North Sydney; half brothers: Eric O’Halloran, PEI; Steven O’Halloran, PEI. He was predeceased by brother, Lawrence Burke, and half sister, Mary. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home Trenton, from where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
