NEW GLASGOW – Lindsay Francis Moore, age 87, of New Glasgow, passed away on the 13th of January 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born August 15, 1920, in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Gratto) Moore, the youngest of nine boys and three girls. Lindsay was involved most of his life in the sheet metal and home heating, air conditioning business, opening a business/showroom - Moore Bros. Ltd. in 1968. It was the largest showroom east of Montreal at that time. He loved flying and had his own two seater which he would fly over to Georgetown, PEI to have a date with his girlfriend, June MacDonald, whom he married in 1949. He and June were avid curlers belonging to the curling club in Westville for many years, and he was also a member of the Lions Club. Lindsay was a member of the First United Baptist Church here in New Glasgow. He is survived by his wife, June (MacDonald) Moore; and his only son, Glen (Karen) Moore, along with one granddaughter, Lindsay; and one grandson, Nicholas (Lacey), all of New Glasgow. There are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Canada and the U.S. He was predeceased by sisters, Ella May (King) Dickson, Priscilla Ritchey and a sister in infancy, brothers: Silas, Freeman, Carlton, Henry, Percy, Aubrey, George and Charlie. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 15th from 6 to 9 in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home in New Glasgow. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, January 16th, at 2 p.m. from the First United Baptist Church on East River Road, New Glasgow, with Rev. Leo Fletcher officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
