NEW GLASGOW – Lorraine M. Whalen, 82, of ProTem Health Services, Moncton, with her loving family by her side, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late William and Zelica (Cormier) LeBlanc. Lorraine was a former desk clerk at the Peter Pan Motel and attended Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing piano, loved entertaining family and friends, making homemade bread, accompanied by a cup of tea for visitors, but first and foremost was the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine will be sadly missed by two sons, Peter (Anne), Riverview, NB; Terry (Wendy), Melbourne, Australia; four daughters: Jeannine Deware (Brian), Moncton, NB; Ann Stevens (Karl), New Glasgow; Denise Bottomley (Jim), Calgary; AB, Charlene MacLellan (Wayne), New Glasgow; numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Noel, Shediac, NB; Freda Gallant (Gerry), ON; several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Douglas Whalen (Doug) (1992); nine brothers and six sisters. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB (858-1995), Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Parish Prayers and Sharing of Memories, 8:30 p,m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB, Friday, February 1, 2008, 11 a.m. with Rev. Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In Lorraine’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the memorial of choice would be appreciated.
