Mary Alice DeCoste, 93, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Frasers Mountain, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Larry's River, Guysborough County. She was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Olive (Richard) Pelerine. Mary was a resident of the Glen Haven Manor for the past four years, having been a resident of New Glasgow all her married life. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are daughters: Doris Pitts, New Glasgow; Corrine (Hillard) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Patsy (Elmer) MacDonald, Little Harbour Road; Kaye (Donald) Hoare, Mountain Road, New Glasgow; Janet (Rene) Pettipas, Pine Tree; a son, Albert(Louise), New Glasgow; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a sister in-law, Anna Pelerine, New Glasgow; a brother in-law John Hoegg, Stellarton; a sister, Jean Ryan, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; a son, Edward, in infancy, sisters: Catherine Duff, Lillian Hoegg, Charlotte Pelerine and Margaret Pitts, brothers, William and James and a son-in-law, Donald Pitts. Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Glen Haven Manor Bus Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
