LYONS BROOK – Mary Jane Leithead, 96, of Tannery Lane, Lyons Brook, Pictou County, passed away November 15, 2007, at home. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Daisy (Semple) Samson. A strong and social person, Mary was a member of Lyons Brook United Church. She was able to remain in her own home thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Theresa, Winnie and Noreen, to whom the family would like to extend a special thank you. Surviving are daughters, Betty (Garth)?Jenkins, Charlottetown; Margaret (Douglas P.)?MacNaughton, Halifax; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Pierce, Stellarton. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert; brothers: Dave, Frank and Charlie; sisters, Nellie Smith, Laura MacKay. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the Lyons Brook United Church, with Mary MacDermid officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lyons Brook United Church.
