Passed suddenly, but peacefully away on September 30, 2012, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Lorraine Pearcey, in her 78th year. Predeceased by her husband Harry Frances (November 16, 1993); mother Jean Cox; brothers: Sidney and Douglas. Leaving to mourn daughter Marjorie; son-in-law Paul Walsh (Fox Creek, AB); special friend (as close as a daughter) Pamela Smith (Goulds, NL); sister Geraldine Weir (Jim) (Foxtrap, NL); brothers: Colin (Cora), William (Linda) (Manuels, NL); sister-in-law Ruby Cox (Manuels, NL); grandchildren: Kellyann Walsh (Carl) (Fox Creek, AB), Harry Walsh (Bridget) (Fox Creek, AB); great-grandchildren and love of her life: Margaret (Maggie), Michael, Mitchell, Lilly Jane, Geoffrey, Chasity, Natasha, and Justice (Fox Creek, AB); special nieces: Barbara Hutchings (St. John’s, NL), Lucy Smith (Felix) (Cape Breton, NS); special nephews: Jim Weir (Karen) (Foxtrap, NL), William Weir (Deanne) (Foxtrap, NL), Dennis Weir (Sharon) (Foxtrap, NL); many other nieces, nephews, cousins throughout Canada, United States, and abroad; lifelong friends: Grace Parmiter (Goulds, NL), and Hilda Murphy (St. John’s, NL). Thank you to Jean and Amanda who served as her special home care caregiver for many years. Special thank you to Dr. David Hart for many years of help, advice, and friendship. Thank you to the staff at the Ruby Manor (Goulds, NL). Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Clare’s Emergency and 7th floor West. Lorraine will be resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Thursday, October 4th, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service to take place at Wesley United Church, on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
