Miramichi - Peter Loggie Manderson, husband of Debbie Manderson, of Wellington St., Miramichi, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the age of 64.
Born in Newcastle, on November 19, 1945, he was the son of the late G. Parker and Vera (Russell) Manderson. He was a self employed businessman and the owner of Familyland Campground, Miramichi. He was a member of Knox United Church, Miramichi, as well as a former member of Session and Board of Stewards of his church; he was a graduate of both Harkins High School, Miramichi, and Mount Allison University, Sackville; a Founding Member of the Board of Retirement Miramichi Inc.; an original member of City Council of the City of Miramichi; a valued former member of the Loggieville Bisons Softball Team; a former member of the Mount Allison Mounties hockey team.
He is survived by his wife, the former Debbie Taylor; three daughters, Marsha Moffitt (Dawson), of Columbus, Ohio, Trenda Manderson, of Toronto, Ont., Lynette Manderson, of Toronto, Ont.; one son, Ashley Manderson, of Miramichi; twin grandchildren, Keaton and Ainsley Moffitt; one brother, John Manderson (Shirley), of Mississauga, Ont.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday evening, from 7-9 pm and Thursday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held from Knox United Church, Wellington St., Miramichi, on Friday, February 26, 2010, at 2 pm, conducted by Dean Lawrence, assisted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, later in the spring.
