Emma Annabel Colpitts, 93, of Petitcodiac, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Fawcett\'s Rest Home. Emma, born October 14, 1916 in Havelock was a daughter of the late Reid and Nettie (Alward) Saunders. She was Post Mistress for the River Glade Post Office until retirement. Emma was a member of the First North River Baptist Church and former long time member of the River Glade Baptist Church. She belonged to the Idleour Seniors Fellowship at First Baptist Church, Moncton, the River Glade Friends & Neighbours, and a life member of the River Glade W.M.S. and River Glade W.I. Emma was also a member of the Kenneth E. Spencer Auxilliary, Riverview Senior Citizens Group, Golden Years Club at Moncton Wesleyan, Salvation Army Home League and taught Sunday School for many years. Emma is survived and missed by her children Jean Thorne (Stuart) of Havelock, Herbert Prance (Joanne) of Okotoks, AB, Donald Prance (Maria) of Winnipeg, MB, Ann Goddard of Kinnear Settlement; sister Beatrice Brown of Petitcodiac; brother Reid Saunders (Ethel) of Fredericton; former son in law Clinton Goddard of Intervale; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; dear friend Laurene Goddard of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many good friends. Predeceased by first husband Herbert Prance, second husband Robert Colpitts, sister Enid MacDonald, son in law Carl Goddard, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Saturday, February 27 at 3 pm with Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Interment at River Glade Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials if desired to the First North River Baptist Church or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
