CINDY LEE PICKARD

PICKARD, CINDY LEE The death of Cindy Lee Pickard of Douglas, NB occurred at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 22, 2003. Born in Truro, NS in 1956. Daughter of Dorothy (Baird) Boomer and the late Fred Boomer. She was employed as an Ophthalmic Assistant with Dr. Robert Seymour. In addition to her employment she was a successful business owner of Eye Catcher Creations in which she created handcrafted teddy bears which have found homes worldwide. Since 1995, she was a permanent stall-holder at the Fredericton Boyce Farmers Market. She was an active member of the Breast Cancer Survivors-Fredericton Support Group and NB Breast Cancer Network. She participated in several fundraising events including the Run for the Cure, Relay for Life and Walk of Hope. Survived by her loving husband, Hubert, son Bradley (Nancy), grandson Brandon William, mother Dorothy and sister Shannon and several aunts and uncles and cousins from Nova Scotia. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, Fredericton on March 25, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, Wednesday, March 26 at 12:00 noon. Reverend John Jennings as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Cindy's memory to be made to the NB Breast Cancer Network and or Canadian Cancer Society.
