HAZEL ETHEL HILL
HILL, HAZEL ETHEL Hazel Ethel Hill of Fredericton, formerly of Millville, passed away quietly on July 31, 2003 surrounded by family love and prayers at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born at Temperance Vale on December 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Harry Edward and Ethel Gladys (Cunningham) Harris. Hazel was well known for her artistry and design of quilts, knitting, fine hand work and her gift for writing poetry. Most of all she was known for her many acts of charity for those in need, and her devoted love and care of her family and circle of dear friends. Hazel is survived by a daughter, Gretta Wells, Fredericton; a granddaughter, The Reverend Keirsten Wells, Toronto, Ontario; four sisters, Shirley Price (Aubrey), Caverhill, Eleanor Harris, Fredericton, Marilyn Maxwell (William), Ladysmith, BC and Kathleen Rogalsky (Peter), Winnipeg, MB; a brother, William Harris, Vancouver, BC; a sister-in-law, Thelma Harris, Petitcodiac and other sisters-inlaw and brothers-in-law in the Sproull and Hill families; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved dog, Ringo. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lowther Sproull, her second husband, Lawrence Hill, an infant daughter, Ellen Marlene, three brothers, Paul Harris, John Harris, his wife Vallie and Walter Harris and his wife Evelyn. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Patricia Drummond officiating, assisted by The Rev. Neville Cheeseman. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be a later date at Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
