RONALD HENRY KIRK

KIRK, RONALD HENRY Ronald H. Kirk of Browns Flat (formerly of Oak Point), NB, passed away after a period of failing health at Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB, on Saturday, December 27, 2003. Born in Oak Point, November 4, 1925, son of the late Henry and Sadie (Akerley) Kirk. Ronald and his wife, Verna, owned and operated Kirk's General Store in Oak Point for over 30 years. He was also engaged in woods work, trucking, farming, and carpenter work. Over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and outdoor activities with his friends and family. He was an avid hockey fan. Ron had a natural talent for music and enjoyed playing the fiddle and harmonica, often accompanied by his brother, Bill. He was a member of the Fundy Region NB Antique Auto Club. He attended the Browns Flat Baptist Church. Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends who enjoyed his keen sense of humour. He is survived by his wife Verna (Machum) Kirk, two daughters; Bonita Bostwick of Saint John, Marilyn and Victor Williams of Bayswater, one son; Marvin, of Millcove; granddaughter; Wendy Bostwick, grandsons, Andrew Bostwick, Kirk Williams and Ryan and Robin Williams, one great grandson; Jayden, one brother; William and Marion Kirk of Martinon, one sister; Helen and Waldo Beckett of Oak Point, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Visiting Monday from 3-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Browns Flat Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. Followed by interment in Oak Point Baptist Cemetery.
