WALKERVILLE - John Jeffery "Jeff" Pelrine, 92, Walkerville, Pictou Co. passed away March 6, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Larry's River, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Avery) Pelrine. He had been a resident of Walkerville most of his life. He was a member of St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1667. Jeff was a member of Branch 34 Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow, he had served overseas during World War II with the West Nova Scotian Regiment. He was employed for many years with Hawker Siddeley Ltd. from where he retired. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a wonderful loving husband to his wife, Lila Pelrine, a great dad to his children: Carol (Freddy) Caldwell, Dartmouth; Peggy (Blackie) Barnett, Trenton; Norma Murray (Bobby), Scotsburn; Barbara (Steve) Gallant, PEI; Martha (Blaine) Debaie, Dartmouth; Donnie Pelrine, Dartmouth; Juanita (Alfie) Polley, Trenton; Yvonne (Charlie) Baillie, Trenton; Wayne (Joelle) Pelrine, Trenton; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Josie, Donnie, Bingo; sisters, Jean and Sophie; three grandchildren: Billy Murray, Charles and John. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family flowers only.
