ELLIOT- THMPSON, ANITA SHARON (HAWKES) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a special wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Surrounded by her loving family on December 30, 2004, at the St. John Regional Hospital, Sharon went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born in New Zion, New Brunswick, Sharon was the daughter of the late Willard and Cora Hawkes. Sharon was an active member in the United Baptist Church in Minto. She served on committees, taught Sunday School and took care of children in the nursery. Her pleasant personality towards others and her smile made her extra special. Her faith in God kept her fighting the many trials that she was faced with each day. Sharon was known in the community for helping others. She was the coordinator for Minto Services to Seniors and Meals on Wheels for many years. She enjoyed her clients and staff. Unfortunately, with failing health, she was forced to retire early. Sharon was blessed with a wonderful family. She is survived by her loving and caring husband Wayne Thompson of Maquapit Lake, her children, Wayne Elliott (Edmunston) Scott Elliott (Heather) Grand Point and Carla Drisdelle (Melvin) Minto. Stepdaughters, Leigh ann (Tony), Sue (John), Grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Melanie, Peggie, Micheal, Colleen, Jessie, Micheal and Sam. Brother, Paul Hawkes (Connie) Ontario. Sister, Myrna Campbell, Hardwood Ridge and Leslie (Doug) Campbellton. A special friend, Sharon Welton and a million other good friends. As well as her parents Sharon was predeceased by her first husband Donald Elliot. Sharon is resting at the Minto Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 2nd at 2:00 pm at the United Baptist Church of Minto, Pastor Kaj Benderup officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
