DALE ELIZABETH MILLS
MILLS, DALE ELIZABETH It is with great sadness that the family of DALE ELIZABETH MILLS, announce her peaceful passing on October 14, 2006, with her family at her side, after her courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born on March 28, 1948 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Being part of a military family, Dale moved to Werl, Germany and then to Oromocto, New Brunswick. It was here in Oromocto that Dale met her soul mate Gary Mills at Oromocto High School and the two were married on August 22, 1970. After graduating from the New Brunswick Teacher's College, Dale taught school for three years before she and Gary started their family. Dale, Gary and their children were lucky to be a part of the RCMP family, living in many places across Canada, including Niagara Falls and Orangeville, Ontario and Coppermine, Fort Smith and Yellowknife, NWT. Of all the places she spent her time, her favorite place and best memories were of the family cottage on Maquapit Lake, New Brunswick. Dale and her family finally settled in Pincher Creek, Alberta where she spent the last 16 years of her life. Here, she found great joy in caring for others through her work with Home Care. Dale is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Edward Mills of Pincher Creek; her mother, Helen Rideout of Peterborough, Ontario; her brothers, Darryl (Jaqueline) and Dennis (Jackie) also of Peterborough and by her sister, Loretta White of St. John's Newfoundland. She will be greatly missed by her children, Kellie Ann Vogelaar and her husband Greg, Andy Mills and his wife Celine and Gary Mills Jr., along with the light of Dale's life, her granddaughter Allyssa. Our mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and sister will forever be remembered for her kindness and most of all, her courage. We invite family and friends to join us in a Celebration of Dale's life at the Foothills Community Church, Pincher Creek on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Murray Pura officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dale's memory to The Canadian Cancer Society, c/o Ames Insurance, Box 1537, Pincher Creek, AB T0K 1W0. Condolences may be directed to Eden's Funeral Home, Pincher Creek 403-627-3131. (edens@telusplanet.net)
