PAUL, HOWARD ANTHONY It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Howard A. Paul at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on September 15, 2007. He was comforted in his last days by his loving wife Jennie and family. He was 75. Born in Fredericton on April 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Andy and Louise (Solomon) Paul. Howard was a gifted wood carver, attending classes with his fellow carvers at Scott De Merchant's. He was an avid bingo player, member of the St. Mary's Senior's Group, enjoyed fishing, hunting, had a love for the Miramichi, enjoyed listening to Karaoke and enjoyed a good argument. A retired Stationary Engineer, he was employed with the Provincial Government Dept. of Supply and Services for 23 years, Oromocto Schools for 15 years and worked at the Capital Co-op that was on Barker St. in his earlier years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Jennie (Price) Paul; Dad to Tony (Gail), Cathy, Keith, Frank (Mavis) and Wendy Brown (Bernie); Grampie and Papa to 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his last surviving uncle, Wimpy Solomon; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companion "Spike". Howard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His parents, a daughter Heather Paul-Poutanen, a brother, Eugene Paul and sisters, Maudie Hallet and Mena Paul, and his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Vincent and Vida Price all predeceased him. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends at St. Mary's Culture Centre, 35 Dedham St., on Monday from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm, however the Culture Centre will be open day and night from Monday through to Wednesday morning for those who wish to visit. The funeral service will be held from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Union St., on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Monte Peters as Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the NB Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
