SOUCY, MAURICE JOSEPH It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice J. Soucy of McAdam, NB announce his passing on December 12, 2007 after a courageous six year battle with cancer. With his loving family by his side, Maurice peacefully slipped away in the arms of our loving Saviour at the McAdam Health Center. He was born in 1944 at Saint-Rose de Degele, Quebec, a son of the late Adrien and Marie-Martha Soucy. He came to McAdam in 1962 and was employed through the years as a railroad worker and a lumberman. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, wheeling and all other outdoor adventures. He loved spending quality time in Magaguadavic at his cottage, "Soucy Chalet". Maurice leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Stella (Cleghorn) Soucy; his only son, Denne, McAdam; four daughters, Cathy Young (Lawrence), Keswick, Sherrie Robertson, McAdam, Holly Hood (Michael), Magaguadavic and Crissy Soucy, McAdam. He had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished dearly. He is also survived by a sister, Marie Rose Nadeau (Ronald) and two brothers, Lawrence Soucy (Jackie) and Jean Rock Soucy (Claudette), all of Montreal. In addition to his parents, Maurice was predeceased by a brother Gerard and an infant sister, Rachelle. Visitation will take place at his home, 61 Lake Avenue, McAdam on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Voice of Pentecost Church, McAdam on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Tompkins and Tony Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Robertson, Vaughan McGillicuddy, Malcolm MacKinnon, Albert Hood and grandsons, Daniel Robertson and Caleb Robertson. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Maurice, the family has suggested the Lakeland Resource Center or Lakeland Industries Sheltered Workshop.
