HILDEBRAND, GERALD OTTO SCOTT The passing of Gerald Otto Scott Hildebrand, husband of the Late Phyllis (Banks) Hildebrand, occurred on Friday, December 26th, 2008 at the York Manor Nursing Home Fredericton, NB. Born on June 10, 1913 in Birdton, NB, Gerald was the Son of the Late George and Margaret (Abernathy) Hildebrand. Gerald and his family moved to Nashwaaksis when he was a young boy and continued to live there his entire life. He and his father operated a large dairy farm on what is now Sunset Drive, with Gerald taking over the operation on the death of his father in the 1950's. The farm land was eventually sold for subdivision development at which time Gerald began a new career as a farm equipment salesman, first for Blaney Equipment and then with D&R Sutherland. Always a farmer at heart, he took great pride in his large vegetable gardens which were the envy of his neighbors and friends. He continued with his gardening until his ninetieth year. He was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church, member of the Alexandria 33 F. and A.M., the Scottish Rite, Luxor Shrine, LOL #32 and Victoria Lodge #13 IOOF. Gerald is survived by his son; David Hildebrand (Harriet), two grandchildren; Eric Hildebrand (Coreen), Nancy McAlinden (Greg); one great-granddaughter; Lauren Hildebrand all of Fredericton, several nieces and nephews. Special Friend; Georgene Tomilson. Besides his wife and parents Gerald was predeceased by, one daughter; Nancy Hildebrand, four sisters; Eliza Staples, Nan Burpee, Dorothy Young and Greta Brown. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on Monday, December 29th, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 from the Nashwaaksis United Church, Fredericton, NB. at 2pm with Rev. George Feenstra officiating, assisted by Rev, Gil MacKenzie. Masonic Tribute Service will be held Monday evening at 6:30 pm. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the Fredericton Shrine Club or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Personal cond- olences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
