PITRE, ELEANOR CLAIRE The passing of Claire Pitre of Fredericton, New Brunswick, wife of Yvon Pitre occurred on Wednesday, April 01, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 23, 1955 in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Eleanor (Kincaide) Shonaman. Claire was Legal Counsel to the Ombudsman of New Brunswick, until her recent retirement. She was a member of the Canadian and the New Brunswick Law Societies. Claire's family and strong faith were the focus and foundation of her life. In addition to her husband, Claire is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Pitre (Brian McKendy); special friend, Beatrice LeBlanc and sisters, Brenda of Saint John, New Brunswick and Mary of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Gerald M. White as celebrant. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation.
