GREEN, MARGARET "MARNEY" JEAN The passing of Margaret "Marney" Jean (Hunter) Green, wife of the late Franklin Green, of Fredericton, occurred on Thursday, April 30th, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 10th, 1925 in Avery's Portage (Astle), she was a daughter of the late Tressa (Woodcock) Hunter and step-father, Berton Woodcock. Margaret was a member of the Astle United Church, affiliated with Nashwaaksis United Church and was an active member of the United Church Woman. She was formerly a cook with Department of Transportation. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Rhoda Fairley (Arden) of McGivney; one son, Everett Green (Sylvia) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Karen McDonald (Steve) of NS, James Green (Victoria) of ON, Mark Fairley of AB and Max Fairley of Minto; eight great grandchildren, Jami-Lee, Luke, Jade, April, Alex, Asia, Christopher and Julie; one great great granddaughter, Claire May; four sisters, Sadie MacLean (Ross) and Gertrude Somerville (Glendon) both of Taymouth, Charlotte Somerville (Bill) of Astle and Theresa Gilmore (Brian) of Killarney; three brothers, Arthur (Jean) Woodcock of BC, Lloyd Woodcock of BC and Harland Woodcock of Astle; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, mother and step-father, Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Turnbull; brothers, John, Jerry and Horace Woodcock; grandparents, Allan and Sarah Hunter. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home Ltd., 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, May 3rd, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. George Feenstra officiating. Interment will take place in the Astle Community Cemetery at a later date.
