STEPHEN ROY DARRAH

DARRAH, STEPHEN ROY It is with deep sorrow and great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Roy Darrah of Oesophageal Cancer at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital in BC at the age of 59 on August 28th, 2009. His life partner and two daughters were at his side at his passing. Stephen was the son of the late Kenneth Darrah and Berdie (Williamson) Darrah of Chipman, NB. He leaves to mourn, his life partner Juanita Clark of Vernon, BC, two daughters, Allison (Shayne) Findlay and Meredith Darrah of Halifax, NS; two grandchildren, Kayla and Trent Findlay of Halifax, NS; son of life partner, Aaron Hageman of Sidney, BC; sister, Janice Darrah of Chipman, NB; niece, Danielle Darrah Hoyt of Toronto, ON; nephew, Shawn Hoyt of Fredericton, NB; two aunts, Elenor (Lellie) Duffy and Pauline Darrah and many cousins. Stephen was born in Saint John, NB. He grew up in Chipman. Graduated from Chipman High School, where he participated in various activities. He was also a Queen Scout. Stephen worked in the Trucking Industry for the past 40 years in NB, NS, Alberta, Northwest Territories and BC. Steve had a life long love of animals, with many very contented pets over the years. He cherished his time spent at the family cottage at Cumberland Bay, NB with family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at The Chipman Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 at 2 pm. Burial to follow at The Chipman United Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Mancel Fowler, Gerald Chase, Barry Murray and Manford Bishop. Donations in Stephens memory can be made to S.P.C.A. or donors choice. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kobus le Roux of Vernon for his wonderful care and friendship to Stephen.
