88, Fourchu Dora Sheppard, 88, of Fourchu passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was born in Stellarton, daughter of Mary Jane Rutledge. Dora was very active in the community volunteering her time. She was a member of Fourchu United church. She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Brian) McParland, New Brunswick; three sons, Clarence (Pauline), Halifax, Winston (Paulette), New Brunswick, Gordon (Dawn), Vancouver Island; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patsy Sheppard, Gabarus Lake. Also survived by sister, Janet Rafuse, Sydney; and sister-in-law, June Rutledge, Fourchu. Predeceased by husband, Charles A., son, Edgar, and four brothers. Visitation will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel, Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, 10 a.m. in Fourchu United Church with DMT Nancy Whitney officiating.
