93, Membertou Feb. 6, 1915-May 20, 2008 Mary Jane Doucette, 93, of Membertou, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness. Born in Pictou Landing, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Sarah (Basque) McKenzie. She was a member of St. Anne’s parish, Membertou and St. Anthony Daniel parish, Sydney. She was the eldest resident of Membertou. She is survived by daughters, Frances (Kevin) McIntyre, Sydney, Joan (Peter) Knapp, Ontario; her son, Kenny (Anita) Doucette, Membertou; a sister, Vangie Tsolinas, Randolph, Mass.; grandsons, Michael, Chris, Kevin Jr. McIntyre, Edward James Kabatay, Angelo LaPorte, Ajay Googoo, Daniel Paul; granddaughters, Annie, Martina, Kayla, Maria Doucette; great-grandchildren, Brett, Shanelle, Cassie; several nieces and nephews and numerous godchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, brother, James McKenzie, sisters, Guida Cope, Mildred Watson and Josephine Brooks. Visitation for the late Mrs. Doucette will take place at the family home, 2 Doucette’s Lane, after 7 p.m., Thursday. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Dan MacDonald officiating. Interment in Membertou Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit, C.B. Regional Hospital, St. Anne’s Church or St. Anthony Daniel parish or a charity of choice. Many thanks to Dr. S.
