ASTLE, CATHERINE - Bathurst, Mrs. Catherine Astle, wife of George "Buster" Astle, of Patterson Crescent, Bathurst, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2002, at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Center after a brief illness. Born in Chatham, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Myles and Martha "Millie" (McGee) Carroll. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church. Besides her husband of 51 years, she is survived by one son, Christopher (Margaret) of Bathurst, one daughter-in-law, Marie (Darren) Mickler of Calgary Alberta, one sister Barbara "Dodie" Gregson of Bathurst, three sister-in-laws, Delima Carroll, Brantville, N.B., Matilda Carroll, Lavillette, N.B., Eleanor Carroll, Oromocto, N.B., eight grand-children; Tiffany, Craig, Myles, Emma, Catherine, George, Madeline, and Sherry, many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Dale, three half-sisters; Dunleigh MacDonald, Mabel Shea, Della Anderson, and four half-brothers; Lawerence, Francis, Harold, and Harry Carroll. The Funeral Service was held on Monday afternoon, December 30, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, King Avenue. Burial will be in Bushville Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
