1933 - 2008 Glace Bay It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Woodroe Roderick Steele, age 75, of Seaview Street, Glace Bay. Woodroe passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Peter Adolphus and Annie Ethel (Kaye) Steele. Woodroe is survived by his wife, Marie (MacLean); daughter, Chandra Steele, P.E.I.; son, Peter Steele, B.C.; grandchildren, Samantha Steele, James Ford, Jesse Ford, Effie Ford; sister, Belle; son-in-law, Barry Ford and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Ethel, Elizabeth and Lee. In honoring Woodroe’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
