Madeline Eunice (Bobby) Johnston

1924 - 2008 Madeline Johnston passed away peacefully in Calgary on Sept. 9, 2008, at the age of 84. A longtime resident of Glace Bay, she has spent the last 34 years living in Calgary. Madeline leaves behind her loving children, Wayne (Pat), Calgary, Cathy (Jim) Swan, Airdrie, Alta., Reg (Cathy) Glace Bay, Trish (Wayne) Allardyce, Calgary, Arlene Gillespie, Airdrie; Howard, Airdrie, Lynn (Anne), Peterborough, Ont. There are 12 loving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Reta Hatfield, Leona Betts and brother, Frank (Sonja). Madeline was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Neil on Dec. 15, 1983. Madeline served in the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
