BROWN, ERNEST FREDERICK - At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, on December 29, 2003, following a lengthy illness, Mr. Ernest Frederick Brown, husband of the late Miriam Elizabeth (Rooney) Brown, of New River, NB. Born on Campobello Island, NB on February 7, 1922, he was a son of the late Harry Elton Brown and Elsie Maude (Carter) Brown. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ernest is survived by seven daughters, Kathleen (Lester) Legacy of New River, NB, Ernestine (Paul) Saulnier of Metaghan, NS, Brenda (George) Tweety of Oshawa, ON, Olive (Eldon) Fox of Canterbury, NB, Pam (Blake) Doucette of Pennfield, NB, Mary (Glen) Dow of Nackawic, NB, and Dorothy (Wilfred) McAdam of Seeley's Cove, NB; two sons, Ernest Jr. of New River, NB and Ronald (Dawn) of Quispamsis, NB; six sisters, Hazel Newman, Beatrice Archer, Dorothy Haggerty, Florence Miller (Philip), Marie Murphy and Adrianne Cline (Michael); 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. Ernest served from 1939 - 1945 in the Canadian Army in France, Germany and Normandy. He worked for Security at Connors Bros. Ltd. in Blacks Harbour. He was was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George (755-3533), with visiting on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the funeral home, with Rev. Gordon Cooke Jr. officiating, at 2 pm Thursday, January 1st, 2004. Interment in Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring.
