
LAURENCE ALLEN DICKSON
DICKSON, LAURENCE ALLEN - Laurence Allen Dickson, 85, of Hammond River, husband of Louise (Henderson) Dickson, passed away peacefully November 16, 2004 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. He was born and lived all his life on the Loyalist 6th generation family farm in Hammond River. He attended RCS, and served in the RCAF in WWII. He retired after 30 years in the civil service to pursue his love of farming, his piece of heaven on this earth, and hunting and fishing. He was a man of undying devotion to his family, his children and grandchildren. He was a man of great faith, and service to his church, the Nauwigewauk Christian Church, as an elder, was of great importance. He served his community, to name a few, as member of the Rothesay School Board, the Progressive Conservative Party, Boy Scouts of Canada, Nauwigewauk Community Club, The Corinthian Lodge No. 13, F.&A.M., 4-H Horse & Pony Club, The United Empire Loyalists Society, and Kennebecasis Branch 58, Royal Canadian Legion. He was born the eldest son of Hedley Allen and Annie Hazel (Duffy) Dickson. He was predeceased by his brothers Don and Jack and eldest daughter Elizabeth Lorraine Harris. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Louise, daughter Hazel Beyea (Stephen) of Hampton, son Donald (Barbara) of Hammond River, five granddaughters Tara Lynn Harris, B.C., Sara and Cassia Beyea, Fredericton, and Elizabeth and Laura Dickson of Hammond River. His family looks forward to remembering and celebrating his life with visitation Thursday, 7-9pm and Friday, 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Masonic tribute will be held Thursday, 7pm and a Legion tribute will be held Friday, 6:45pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, 1:00pm, at Reid's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Henderson officiating. Interment in St. Andrews Kirk Cemetery, Hammond River.
