SOUTHARD, FLORENCE MARGARET - Peacefully, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on December 20, 2004, Mrs. Florence Margaret (Hawkins) Southard, wife of the late William E. Southard of St. George, NB. Born in Pennfield, NB on December 13, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Beecher and Charlotte (Thompson) Hawkins. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by one daughter, Edith Blacklock (Tom) of Pointe Claire, PQ; three grandsons, Gregory (Wendy) Blacklock, David Blacklock, and Paul (Kelly) Blacklock, all of Montreal, PQ; six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Melinda, Brittany, Brianna, Andrea, and Karly; one brother, Arthur (Lois) Hawkins of Pennfield; one sister-in-law, Lois Southard; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, William, she was pre-deceased by her son, William; three sisters, Margaret O'Brien, Mabel Alexander and Alice Golding; four brothers, James, Alfred, Charles and George. Florence was a long time member of St. Marks Anglican Church, St. George, where she served on the Altar Guild, and was a member of the ACW. She also was a member of the Granite Town Seniors. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George (755-3533), with visiting on Sunday, December 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Monday at 11 am from St. Marks Anglican Church, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery.
