AMHERST -The death of Dolores (Dot) Harrison, age 88, of Amherst, occurred at the Gables Nursing Home on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Elton and Hilda (Erickson) Harrison. A self taught musician, she played all types of music on her piano, organ, accordion and guitar. She loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Church, Amherst. Dot will be sadly missed by her five daughters, Patricia Hornsby, Sydney, Darlene (Aubrey) Sellars, London, ON, Janet Moore (Gerard), Windsor, ON, Verna Rogers (Ken), Amherst and Carol Harrison (Gary), Springhill, NS; 2 sons, Donald (Lorraine) Harrison, Exeter, NH and John (Darlene) Harrison, Amherst; two sisters, Audrey Allen, Amherst and Lois (Bob) Hawkes, Oxford, NS, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Donald Robertson and Leonard Cormier and by sisters, Alta and Ruby and by brothers, Drew and Richard, also two infant grandsons. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst. The time of visitation and funeral service will be announced in Wednesday’s edition of the Amherst Daily News.
