
HAROLD JOSEPH (HERKY) GAUTREAU
GAUTREAU, HAROLD JOSEPH (HERKY) - At his residence on December 7, 2005 Harold Joseph (Herky) Gautreau of Lorneville husband of Theresa Gautreau. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Roch and Louise (Brideau) Gautreau. Herky was employed with Furness Withy as a mechanic and also at Purdy Sales and Service and he worked for a Cadillac Olds dealer ship in Boston. He was an avid Stock Car driver and was known as 8 Ball and his car was #8, in the early 1950's he drove at Exhibition Park and in the 1960's at Hammond River. He was an avid hockey player and played in the Commercial League as a goalie. One of his passions was hunting and fishing. He was a member of the I.L.A. #273. Surviving in addition to his wife Theresa are one son Frederick H. (Maria) of B.C.; three daughters Mary Laylia Nice (Jeffery) of Glenwood, Holly Louise Noble (Donald) of Saint John, and Karen Lorain Gautreau of Saint John; three brothers Jean-Claude (Melda) of Lorneville, Norman (Audrey) of Saint John and Ronald of Saint John; one sister Yolanda Robichaud of Saint John; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Terrance, Leopold and Leonard; sister Vivian McCarron. Resting at the Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church Milford Rd. on Monday December 12, 2005 at 11 am. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 9 pm.
