STEEVES, ALAN L. - Alan Steeves of Riverview passed away at Pro Tem Health Services, Gorge Road on Monday, December 25th 2006. Born in Moncton on March 31 1930, he was the son of the late Leonard and Theresa (Reade) Steeves. Alan spent many years with Shell Canada and operated ALS Petroleum Ltd. until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Baptist Church, Moncton, a Past President of the Moncton District Council Boy Scouts of Canada, receiving the Silver Acorn Award for his years of service in scouting, Past President of the Moncton Golf and Country Club, a member of Acacia Lodge # 49 F & AM, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Masons of NB, Past Treasurer of Moncton Lodge of Perfection, a member of the Luxor Temple Shriners, Past President of the Moncton Shrine Club, and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland. Alan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie (Fawcett) Steeves; daughters, Lynne Hewitson (Andrew) of Aurora, ONT., Janet Ellsworth (Barry) of Riverview, Ellen Steeves-Allen (Donald) of Riverview; grandchildren, Sandra (Mike Liem) of Aurora, ONT., Jennifer (Peter Panagopoulos) of Kirkland ,QC, Morgan and Tiffany Ellsworth of Riverview; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Eldon and a sister Catherine Beckett. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:45 pm on Friday, December 29th at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
