LORA ALICE SPEAR

SPEAR, LORA ALICE - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 27th, 2006, Mrs. Lora Alice (Hawkins) Spear, wife of John Alexander Spear of Pennfield, NB. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on June 3rd, 1928, Lora was a daughter of the late Rubert and Ida (Beech) Hawkins. She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Carolann Spear (Karl Whelan) of Pennfield, Eileen (Lindsay) Campbell of St. Andrews, NB; one son, Brian (Rhonda) Spear of Pennfield; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Spinney of St. George, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Lora was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Donald; and one sister, Madge Paul. Lora was employed by various employers as a cook, most recently at Smith's Restaurant in Pennfield. For many years she was a Brown Owl in the Girl Guide Association and was also the founder of Lora's Clubhouse. She was an active member with the Presbyterian Kirk Pennfield and very involved with all the church's activities. Lora was a friend and helpmate to everyone she knew or crossed her path. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 30th, 2006 at 3:30 pm with Rev. Lorne MacLeod and Rev. Philip Lee officiating. Followed by interment at the Presbyterian Kirk Cemetery in Pennfield. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, December 29th, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Presbyterian Kirk Pennfield or the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
