BROOKS, MARGARET C. (MACKELLAR) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Christine (MacKellar) Brooks of Saint John West, wife of the late Bernard Brooks on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Christine (Stewart) MacKellar. Margaret was the last member of her immediate family. Before her retirement she was employed at the Ridgewood Veterans Hospital. She was a member of the Carleton Kirk United Church and a member of the U.C.W. of Carleton Kirk Church. Margaret was a member of the Sea Belles Harmony Singers for over 20 years. She is survived by one son, Mickey Tait and his wife, Gayle of Dartmouth N.S.; one daughter, Pam Vautour and her husband, Yvon of Quispamsis; two step sons, Paul Brooks (Mary Lou) of Hampton, Joe Brooks (Brenda) of Grand Bay-Westfield; five step daughters, Sylvia Mitchell (Jerry) of Hampton, Diane Arsenault (Raymond) of Hampton, Margaret Godin (Gil) of French Village, Susan Brooks of Saint John and Lynn Stevens (Brian) of Gondola Point; four grandsons, Peter, Sean, Jeff and Brent; one granddaughter, Jillian; three great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Logan and Christian; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, husband; one son, James Tait; one step son, David Brooks; and two brothers, Neil and Duncan MacKellar. Resting at the Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). A funeral service will be held at the Carleton-Kirk United Church on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm.
