GREEN, REV. JULIAN GRACEN - The death of Julian Green occurred at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, Friday, March 28, 2008. Born in Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, January 15, 1913, Julian was the son of the late Audley and Carrie (Holmes) Green and husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Saunders) Green. Julian was a faithful member of the United Baptist Church Clergy for over 30 years having served churches in North River, St. Martins, Oak Bay, Salisbury, Millville, Pennfield, Hoyt and Fredericton Junction. During WW2, he was a member of the 90th Anti-Tank Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery and served his country in the south of England in 1940 and 1941. Julian was a proud member of the War Amputations of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Joan (Garry Guild), sons, Richard (Patricia) and Burton and half-brother Steven Green. Julian was predeceased by his sisters, Royal and Isabel and great-grandson, Matthew Gallagher. He is survived by grandchildren, Deborah (Stephen) VanSlyke, Deidre Green (Shaun Gallagher), Deanna Green (Frank Vanderlaan), Dr. Peter Green and Sean Green; and great-grandchildren Jeremy and Kristen VanSlyke, Anna and Jonathan Gallagher, and Adam and Kate Vanderlaan. The family expresses sincere thanks to Julian's many devoted caregivers of the past decade. The DVA and Dr. Keddy provided outstanding support and care. Visitation will take place at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, Fredericton on Thursday, April 3, 2:30 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 8:30 PM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 4 at 2 PM at McAdams Funeral Home. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
