CAMPBELL (BETTS), JEAN H. - Jean H. (Betts) Campbell, 87, Kingston Peninsula, NB died at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 30, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Grace (Houston) Betts. She is survived by her husband Ralph Blaine Campbell, 11 children Burton (Kathy) Barnesville, Joseph (Liliane) Montreal, Lenora (John) Poulos, Fredericton, Terry (Kathy), Kingston, Paul, Kingston, Anne, Halifax, Hazel (Greg Murphy), Halifax, Roscoe (Joan), Kingston, Eloise (Roger) Tracy, Fredericton, Juanita MacLean, Fredericton, Rebecca, Kingston, an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Margaret "Margie", sisters Grace Healey, Mary (Middleton) Hatfield, Ethel Wilson and brothers Herbert and Alfred Betts. Mum loved farming and selling her fruit and vegetables at the Saint John City Market (especially her raspberries to Pete Luckett in the 60's & 70's), hunting, fishing, knitting socks and mittens for her family and friends. In later years she enjoyed making over 40 knitted baby sets for the Guardian Angels Program, Saint John Regional Hospital and anyone who was in need. Special thanks to Dr. Collings and all the doctors, nurses and staff on 3C South, Saint John Regional Hospital. Friends will be received at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday. A service of thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Jean will be held 10:00 am Saturday at Erb's Cove Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Shaw officiating. Interment in Erb's Cove Cemetery.
