YORKE, MARION IRENE (NEE LEGGE) - Went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 29, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born in Scott's Bay, Nova Scotia, April 05, 1926. She was the only child of the late Percy and Vesta Legge. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Yorke. She is survived by her children who loved her dearly; Sharon Yorke, Paula Bawn (husband Brian), David Yorke (wife Brenda). She leaves behind four special grandchildren, Michael, Alicia, Ashley and Elizabeth. Her main role in life was unselfishly looking after others, whether it be her family or those in the community. After her children were grown she worked at the Brunswick House; she always remained active in church work teaching Sunday School, doing Alter Guild, Women's Auxiliary and music ministry. She leaves behind a rich Christian legacy of love for her children and all those who came in contact with her. She is resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Sunday, November 01, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Calvary Temple, Sydney Street. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Marion, may be made to the Calvary Temple Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
